Peter Gabriel will headline Sydney’s Opera House next month after the Australian Concert Orchestra announced it would close its doors for the season.
The Sydney Opera Company has confirmed it will be closing its doors in October to focus on the launch of a new Australian Music Centre.
It will be announced by Sydney Opera CEO Stephen Catton at the Sydney Opera Hall on Monday.
“The Australian Concert Opera will be launching a new and exciting concert and performance programme to celebrate the centenary of the Opera House in Australia in 2019,” Catton said.
“We want to extend our thanks to our amazing and loyal audiences who have supported us since our first performances in the early 1970s.”
Peter Gabriel’s concert ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’ in Melbourne’s Docklands has sold out since the event was held in November.
