It is becoming clear that the ‘penal code’ Snowden brought to the United States, the so-called ‘PornGate’ that is threatening the security of our national security, is a fabrication.
The truth is, Vladimir Putin is a fan.
It is clear that this ‘Pantagon Papers’ are the work of someone with a vested interest in the Russian government’s ability to exert power and influence over American democracy.
When we see that Putin is publicly endorsing Snowden and the fact that he’s doing this because of his personal interest, we must not lose sight of the fact he is directly responsible for the actions of this ‘authoritarian’ Putin.
Putin’s position on the Snowden revelations is no secret.
The Russian President’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, issued a statement Wednesday calling Snowden’s actions ‘a serious threat to the national security of the Russian Federation.’
It should be clear to Putin that his stance is entirely consistent with his stated aim of strengthening Russia’s position in the international arena.
“The most important thing is to strengthen Russia’s standing in the world and this is something which the Russian authorities are not going to stop doing,” Peskov said.
“The Snowden affair is a serious threat for the security and stability of the international system, and this should be taken seriously.”
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
